Second Saturday — Plant Ecosystems
From the tundra to the tropics, the Earth is scattered with many cool and interesting ecosystems that are as unique as the other. At this month’s Second Saturday, participants will learn all about these ecosystems and the trees and plants that make them one of a kind. Participants will become ecologists and explore the naturalized and evergreen forests here at the garden. And as always, there will be a fun arts and craft project for the kids to take home!
Children ages 6 and up are invited and must be accompanied by an adult to encourage learning and explorations of the Garden together. Space for the workshop is limited, so call 692-2874 to register.
Workshops costs $5 per child and per member adult, and $8 for nonmember adults.
Second Saturday is a program for children and their parents that was created by board member Marilyn Chakroff. Started in January 2008, it is held from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of each month in the Bodine Visitor’s Center at the St. George Village Botanical Garden.
